Western Steel Manufacturing plant Western Steel's management is committed to providing quality fabricated structural and miscellaneous steel to the construction industry. We understand that structural steel provides an integral part of the structural integrity and safety of a building, and that it is a key element of construction critical path schedules. These facts, plus a personal commitment to quality, employee relations, safety and customer relationships, keeps our company focused on quality processes and products, which our customers have come to expect and depend upon. We are also a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction and are certified by AISC for the fabrication of structural steel for complex buildings.

Specializing in the fabrication of structural steel for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, Western Steel Manufacturing Company provides complete steel services to clients including fabricated structural steel, steel joists and deck, stairs, railings and miscellaneous steel. Each job, large or small is treated with the same level of importance and professionalism that our clients have come to expect from Western Steel Mfg. Company.

The company also regularly provides steel erection services through select subcontractors. Our capacity ranges from smaller projects to large jobs in excess of 4,000 tons.

Western Steel Manufacturing fabrication plant Founded by Roy Norquist in 1946 and originally located on 26th and Main Street near downtown Boise, the company relocated to its present location south of the Boise airport in 1971. The business' philosophy is founded on the belief that success is dependent upon delivering the customer a quality product ontime at a fair price, while always maintaining the highest standards of business ethics, professional integrity and financial responsibility.

Roy's son, Galen Norquist, joined the business in 1951 and became the company's President after Roy's retirement in 1970. Galen's son Steve joined the business in 1981 and is now President and CEO. Ron Allen is the company's General Manager.

Although the company has grown substantially over the years, and made many improvements in process, technology and equipment, they have never lost sight of the business and personal values instilled by the founder. Roy's commitment to quality, business integrity and fairness to customers, employees and vendors remains the cornerstone of Western Steel's operations.
