High Rise
High rise structures on a per ton or square foot basis are normally the least
expensive due to the repetitive nature of the typical floor systems.
From detailing to fabrication, economies of scale reduce a structure's
unit cost for fabricated structural steel. Usually the job site is in
a downtown location with very limited if any staging area which requires
close coordination between the steel fabricator, the customer and steel
erector during shipping and erection.
High rise structures will usually have at least two stair shafts with
steel pan type stairs and steel hand railings making miscellaneous steel
a fairly significant part of the project.
